An institution devoted for music, was found by "Sangeetha Kalarathna" Hyderabad Dr. B. Siva
Hyderabad Dr. B.Siva (born to Shri Balasubramanian and Smt Kamala) started his journey at the age of 16 learning from Shri Chandrasekar, Smt Bhanu Kannan when he was he was in Hyderabad and learned from ‘Sangeetha Kalanidhi’ B.Rajam Iyer when he was doing his PG and UG courses in the Madras University. He is also the proud disciple of late Shri. Sethalapathy Balasubramaniam who is the direct disciple of Shri Papanasam sivan. He has also been under the guidance of late Smt. Sundaravalli Srinivasan.
On the professional view of Hyderabad siva he has been one of the faculty members of the faculty members of the Vivekanandha Educational Society and has also been a music lecturer at sri Saraswathi College of Educations, Ponneri, Tamil nadu. Of all the above he is one among the grade artist in All India Radio, run by the Ministry of Information and Boardcast, Government of India. He is also a member of Advisory Council in Tamil Nadu Music & Fine Arts University.
Since his early years, he has won many competitions conducted by reknowned institutions like Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam, AndraPrasdesh, Madras Music Acadeny, Kalasagram, secundarabad,etc.
His titles include an exhaustive list of “Sangeetha Kalarathana” by Thiruparakundaram Shri Skandha Guru Vidyasharm, Aasthana Vidhwan of “Sri Kanchi kamakoti Mutt etc. He has also been awarded with IsaiChelvar, Ezhisai Endhal, Sandha Tamizh Isai Chelvar, Thiruppugazh Chemmal, etc by various organisations.
Hyderabad B.Siva has given enumerous concerts and musical presntations and programs in various sabhas and institutions like the Chennai sangeetha Vidhwath Sabha, Pongu Tamizh Pannisai Mandaram, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, Delhi Tamizh Sangam, 2nd International Conference about Siddhar Neri, International Conference on Pancha Puraanam etc. Recenly, he has given a musical demonstration in the 3rd International Conference on Muruga Bakthi, Durban, South Africa and 4th International Confernece on Muruga Bhakthi, Colombo, Srilanka.
His Precentation in media shows called “Kalai Kalvi” and “Pan Paaduvom” in Makkal TV has thrown light on the features and beauty of different South Indian Ragas and songs like Thiruppugazh and other famous as well as rare compositions. During the last year of his journey, he has been performing in several reputed TV channels on various occasions such as Navaratri, Diwali, Margazhi, Sankaranthi etc..
He has been appreciated for his tremendous performance with his students in this world famous Lakshman Sruthi’s “Chennaiyil Thiruvaiyaaru” in which he performed Sri Aandal Aruliya “Thiruppavai” which increased his rasikas.
Hyderabad SIVA is well known for his activities towards the welfare of his students in the field of music. He is the proud founder of Sukhi Nikhetan Arts Academy, a musical institution in which about 250 students learn Carnatic Music. He is also well known for publishing book related to South Indian Music, Navagraha Kruthis, Thirumurai of Naalvar and is also a launcher of various music ACDs in the concept of “Listen & Learn”. He is also the proud launcher of his new book on Thiruppugazh as “Isai Thamizh Paamaalai Series 2” with ACD both containing 4-8 line Thiruppugazh songs in the Third International Conference on Muruga Bhakthi, Durban, South Africa.
He with 108 students is popular in presenting various thematic concerts in a unique style and theme called “Ashtothra Sangeetha Haaram”.
Reports and Journals have praised his concerts. One of the most nostalgic report was by Dinamalar, on 22/10/2006, Chennai stated that “In this young age, he attracted and made the audience stunned by singing alapana, Kalpana swaras etc...,in the raga shanmukhapriya”.
Presently he is well known for his rendering of songs in a very unique style without breaking the words and phrases not only in Thamizh Compositions, but other language compositions too. He is also being liked for singing a member of Viruthams in his concerts. His journey as a Music Teacher doesn’t end within the boundaries of our country. He is also an Advisor to Musical Institutions in Malaysia and South Africa, equally spreading our culture and art to the students in those countries.
